Expert 2 - Social Economist - Cat II


Qualifications and Skills

  • Masters' degree in economics or social sciences is required or, in its absence, equivalent professional experience of at least 3 years above the general professional experience duration indicated below.
  • A relevant post graduate qualification will be an advantage.


General professional experience

  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in a social and/or economic field.


Specific professional experience

  • At least 5 years professional experience in economic and social/poverty impact studies or assessments including integration of gender and community development activities.
  • Experience with livelihood or empowerment projects targeting rural and/or peri-urban areas in developing countries will be an added advantage


Team combined skills / Profile

  • At least one of the experts must demonstrate experience of having worked in the Sub-Saharan region;
  • At least one of the experts must demonstrate experience of having worked in the energy sector;
  • At least one of the experts must demonstrate experience in programmes targeting financial literacy and business management/entrepreneurship development;
  • At least one of the experts must demonstrate knowledge of EDF procedures for grants;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Good working knowledge of English and excellent report writing skills.
